ABOUT Sakurao
Origin of Sakurao Distillery is that traditional shochu brewery, Chugoku Brewing located in Sakuraocho and Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima. Chugoku Brewing produced whiskey from 1938 to 1989 but stopped production for a long time. As a memorial project for the 100th anniversary of their founding, they challenge the production of traditional Western distilled spirits once again. In 2018, they created Sakurao Distillery which produces whiskey using the craftsmanship that they have built up so far. They released “Single Malt Sakurao” in 2021.
