Kyoda Distillery – Helios Distillery

Founder Tadashi Matsuda established Kyoda Distillery (Helios Distillery) in 1961. He started making rum using sugar cane which is the main crop in Okinawa. Over 50 years, Helios Distillery continues to produce awamori, spirits, beer and liqueurs. A special “Kura” made at distillery in Okinawa, the southernmost part of Japan. It is carefully aged in American white oak and finished in a Japanese rum barrel, it feature sweet aroma and mellow taste. In 2020, Helios Distillery released first single malt whiskey, “Kyoda Cask Strength 2020,” in addition to its existing whiskey.
